Washington State University undergraduates can submit applications with abstracts now through Feb. 22 to present posters on March 25 at Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) 2019.

The online form for students to submit abstracts, and details about the event, are available on the SURCA website.

“SURCA 2019 gives students from every major, campus, and year to share the results of their efforts with a mentor that made original intellectual or creation contributions in their field,” said Shelley Pressley, director of the Office of Undergraduate Research. It is part of WSU Undergraduate Education.

“This is the eighth annual SURCA, and we plan to again feature the work of around 250 students who will make presentations in any of eight categories. Awards can be made once again to top presenters in each category, from novice to experienced researchers.

“We are also welcoming faculty and post-docs to sign up now on the website to be judges at SURCA,” Pressley said.

SURCA is the Monday kick-off event for WSU Showcase Week this year. Showcase is a WSU tradition, featuring several events throughout the week, including a poster session featuring research by faculty, staff, and graduate students. The deadline for those presenters to submit abstracts is Jan. 16. Visit the Showcase website for more information.
