SURCA Research Showcase Applications Open for Undergraduates through Feb. 18

Applications are open now through Feb. 18 for all Washington State University undergraduates wanting to share their mentored research at the Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) 2025 on March 24 at WSU Pullman. “At SURCA last spring, 256 students from the six WSU campuses presented 206 posters, and we plan to welcome at SURCA 2025 as many or more to talk about their research, scholarship, and creative activities, which is collectively termed ‘research,’” said Jeremy Lessmann, director of the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR).

WSU SURCA Undergraduate Researchers Land 49 Awards at Showcase 2024

Fifty-three students at the Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) 2024 were the recipients of 49 awards totaling $10,900, announced the Office of Undergraduate Research (OUR), host of the March 25 event. Awardees are from two of all six represented campuses: WSU Pullman, with 52, and the Global Campus, with one.

WSU SURCA 2024 Sets, Ties Participation Records

The Washington State University Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) is going to pack the CUB Senior Ballroom with eager students sharing their research findings from 3:30-4:45 p.m. Mon., March 25. The event is open at no charge to guests. “We are very happy to feature 206 posters from 256 students from all six WSU campuses, and to welcome 208 judges to hear descriptions of their work and results,” said Jeremy Lessmann, director of the WSU Office of Undergraduate Research. Lessmann said that this year’s judges total is the largest ever in SURCA history, and the number of presenters ties those of 2018 for the most. The number of posters is the second highest in SURCA history.
