Delivering an effective talk about your mentored research, scholarship, and creative activity is vital to your SURCA experience. Explaining your work to judges and the public means talking to those who understand your field as well as those who aren't as familiar with your discipline. At this workshop, you will get tips to create a successful presentation which will be helpful for SURCA and beyond.

Creating a poster to depict the details of your research, scholarship, and creative activity is your opportunity to show judges and the public details about your project. Your poster complements your oral presentation on your work. Get tips from experts about how to create an effective poster at this workshop.

Applications for student researchers to present at the March 25, 2024 Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) will open Dec. 4, 2023.

The annual Showcase for Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities (SURCA) for 2023 will feature posters showing nine categories of the work and results of students engaged in mentored research, scholarship, and creative activities across WSU. As explained in greater detail on our "Schedule & Details on Attending" page, members of the public and the university community are welcome to view posters and talk to presenters about their work from 3:30 – 4:45 p.m. (PDT). All are eagerly encouraged to attend the awards ceremony in the CUB Auditorium starting at 5:00 p.m.

Join presenters and their mentors to learn which students will receive awards for top presentations in nine categories.

Plan to present at, or attend, SURCA 2022 in the CUB Senior Ballroom this afternoon!  This is the only WSU venue where students from all majors, years in college, and campuses can share their mentored research, scholarship, and creative activities.
